Meet the Staff
Diane Shoen – Customer Service Representative
Diane grew up on a farm in western Illinois. She and husband Jeff moved to Moweaqua in 1990. Diane has been working at Barnes Animal Hospital since July 2019 & retiring from healthcare.
Diane loves interacting with our clients and their furry friends, serving them in a whole new way. Diane enjoys reading and would much rather be outdoors than indoors tending to her flowers and hummingbirds. She most enjoys time spent with her two daughters, their husbands and her 4 grandchildren.
Although she has had Daisy, Molly, Gracie (the unicorn) and Libby, Diane is keeping her eye open for the next fit to her new lifestyle.
Jenny Davis – Customer Service Representative
Jenny grew up in Moweaqua, graduated from Central A&M and then went to school for medical coding/billing and has worked in medical offices since. Starting in 2022 she decided to use her lifetime love for animals and combined with her years of customer service to become a team member at Barnes Animal Hospital.
Jenny was the kid trying to bring home all of the stray animals. She has rescued many pets over the years, dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, fish, & bearded dragons. Her passion is to give pets a voice and to make sure they are getting the best care possible.
When Jenny is not taking care of animals she is playing with her daughter. She also enjoys taking pictures and being outside with her family.
Melissa Pierceall – Certified Veterinary Technician
Melissa is a Certified Veterinary Technician. She came to Barnes Animal Hospital in October 2021 with 11 yrs of small animal experience and a continued willingness to learn and grow. She is fear free certified as well and utilizes this to help provide a better experience for you and your pets. She enjoys all aspects of working in a small animal clinic.
Married with one adult daughter, Melissa and her husband have 3 very spoiled cats who get all the attention at home. In her off time she enjoys traveling and spending time in her gardens in the warmer months. Fun fact: Melissa has had pets as small as mice to Guinea pigs, hedgehogs, geckos, dogs, and even a 180 lb potbellied pig as a pet before.
