Meet the Doctor

Abigail Barnes, DVM Owner/Veterinarian

Dr. Barnes grew up right here in Moweaqua and now resides in Assumption with her husband, Brian and two sons Theodore and Gabriel. The Barnes Family also has two fur babies Penny, an American Eskimo and Bruce, a long haired cat both of whom are rescues. Dr. Barnes enjoys reading and doing anything outside in her spare time.

Dr. Barnes attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and graduated with her bachelor degree in Animal Sciences in 2007. She went on to earn her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2011 from the University of Illinois.

Wellness Care

Focused on annual or biannual exams, vaccinations and annual parasite testing with monthly preventatives to keep your pet happy and healthy.

Focusing on providing your pet the best quality of life until the day comes to say goodbye.

Communication and Education

It’s important to us that you understand what is going on with your pet’s health. We love our role in strengthening the special bond between animals and their owners.

Low Stress Experience

Not just for your pet but owner as well with our homey decor and specialized training to make everyone as comfortable as possible

Routine surgeries such as spaying and neutering to lump removals, exploratories and other soft tissue surgeries accompanied with close monitoring and supportive care.
